Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: June 2026
Tutela Digitalis exists to help people recognise and avoid scams. To keep that guidance free and independent, some of our articles include affiliate links to products and services we believe genuinely reduce fraud and scam risk. This page explains exactly how that works — in plain language, because trust is the entire point of this site.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a third-party product. If you click one and then choose to buy, the company may pay us a small commission for the referral. That is the only way these links differ from any other link on the Site.
It never costs you anything extra
You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise. The commission comes out of the company's marketing budget, not your pocket — you are never charged more for using one of our links.
Our recommendations are not for sale
A commission never buys a recommendation, a ranking, or a good review.
- We only mention tools we believe genuinely help protect people from fraud. If a product is not worth recommending, we do not recommend it — regardless of what it pays.
- We are not owned by, and do not speak for, any company whose products we mention. Our editorial judgement is independent of any commercial relationship.
- Where a free or government option does the job — for example, a credit freeze — we tell you that first, even when it earns us nothing.
- We never use false urgency, fear, or pressure to push a paid product. That would betray the people this site is built to protect.
The kinds of products we may earn from
We limit affiliate relationships to categories that materially reduce a person's exposure to scams and fraud:
- Identity-theft monitoring and protection services.
- Personal-data removal (data-broker opt-out) services that reduce how easily scammers can target you.
- Password managers and account-security tools.
- Anti-malware and device-security software.
How we label affiliate content
Any individual article that contains affiliate links carries a clear note at the top, so you always know before you read. This page is the site-wide policy behind those notes.
FTC compliance
